About Me

Hello there, Welcome to my site!

I’m Sovit Poudel. I live in Kathmandu, Nepal with my wife, my parents and a black dog.

Sovit Poudel

I started my career as a professional software developer after graduating with a degree in Bachelors of Science (Physics) in 2012 from McNeese State University, USA.

After working for about 5 and half years for different software companies (mostly at Verisk Nepal for 4 and half years, Exolutus for 3 months, Cerner for 4 months & Western Union Corporate Office for 3 months), I decided to start something of my own.

I had been doing lots of freelancing gigs on the side since the beginning and I was driven by the global entrepreneurial atmosphere. So, I quit my full time job in 2018 and co-founded Truenary Solutions, a software development company in Nepal. Now I work with my team to build awesome products for our clients and also some cool products of our own.

Besides “work” stuff, I love traveling, playing guitar, writing songs, having good conversations over tea, coffee and definitely beer!

About This Site & Me Writing

I started writing posts on this site back in 2014. I used to be quite a frequent writer back then, a diligent one. Lately though, I haven’t been able to write anything here. I shifted to writing and publishing on other sites so that is one reason I couldn’t publish anything here.

I have written quite a few articles and tutorials on StackSecrets which has become quite popular in the Flutter developers community. I am proud to say that it gets around 10 thousand monthly visitors on various Flutter related articles written by me!

I had also started a separate site called “Gigyasa” to explore philosophy via writing, but I shut that down because I couldn’t commit to it. I have decided to move those articles to this site going onwards.

I also wrote a few articles on TutsPlus as a paid gig back in 2016. Few more articles on a friend’s magazine Enbeeone3. Very few on my wife’s blog Life A Bliss as well.

I love writing probably and I do plan to write more in the days to come.
